Hans-Joachim Roedelius is an electronic music pioneer that inspired the likes of Kraftwerk to ditch their hippie jam band and wear suits and buy synths. He is most notably responsible for his work with Kluster (which included Konrad Schnitzler), then later the legendary Cluster and Harmonia through all of these with his partner in crime Dieter Moebius. Harmonia would include appearances by the inimitable Brian Eno. Later he would work with Ohnen Bock as Qluster including countless collaborations with a cast of others.
American Steamboat is an album originally released on Space for Music in 2003 with Hans Joachim Roedelius, Eric Bonerz, Alec Way, David Bickley, Eric Marlyn, and Fabio Capanni. These musicians come from diverse backgrounds in five different countries (Ireland, England, Austria, Germany, and USA) in two continents. American Steamboat was re-released in 2011 on Erototox Decodings and available exclusively on a tour with Hans-Joachim Roedelius and XAMBUCA.
